I just discovered that I am an EXPRESSIVE EXTERNAL SEEKER. Want to know what you are? Go to FindYourAQ.com and take the AQ Test. AQ stands for Adventure Quotient, which is a lot like your IQ but instead of intelligence this short test interprets your spirit of adventure.
I would have read the whole thing on their site, but I thought it was going to e-mail the information back. ^^;

talk about a bust Well, the Job Fair I went to this morning had nothing. Most companies were looking for sales. However, I did hand my resume over to a guy from an employment agency that has an IT department. He said he'd forward it into the IT guys in Manhattan.
The other job fair through my school was cancelled. But, I did sit down with the career counselor and do a little resume work. I'll be re-editting tonight and dropping off a copy tomorrow when I go back in for work.
So, now I'm off to collapse for a few hours and catch up on sleep I've missed for the past week and a half. I'm exhausted.
But first... to dump some laundry into the machine...

the start from hell Can I collapse now? This week is still going from last week. I didn't have much of a weekend. *sobs*
I need some serious "me time". We worked like crazy the week before class started. The first day was the 7th. After getting people to class and having a one or two spots with nothing to do, we geared up for our ribbon cutting/grand opening/club fair.
Holy cow.
The day went well yesterday, but I'm exhausted. We had a DJ, free food, and some giveaways for the students. I don't think I sat down for more than three minutes at a time. We did tours for the VIPs when they showed up for the ribbon cutting in the morning. And I want to kill Crystal, but that's a story for another time. We also had a brunch for them which they let us get in there and get some food as well.
The party was the second part. Our students all checked in with us, and we gave them a drawstring tote bag with a calculator clip (yes, calculator clip), a fat pen, and an ID wallet you wear around your neck. I missed the WBLI van with the teeshirts. I was rather disappointed.
We ran the party all afternoon, but shut it down early because we didn't want to hold the DJ there after 7:30. He's a student at the school, and probably would have played for as long as we asked him to, but he was doing it for us on an extremely small budget, had all his guys there for us, and had most of his equipment in for the day. Granted, Tuesdays must be a slow day in the DJ business, but it wasn't fair to keep them there for that long on such a small budget.
Today, I'm off from work... but I'm not getting much down time again. I'm hitting a couple of job fairs this afternoon to see what's available. I'm going to cross my fingers because job fairs haven't been too good for me lately.
I didn't even get time this weekend. Not knowing I wasn't going to have Sunday to relax, I went with Estelle and her son down to Southaven park. Originally, we were going to take Johnny out on a rowboat, but we got there too late. So, we let him run around the playground for a while and use up some energy. Later, my parents and I took the convertable into Brooklyn Heights to see the light tribute for 9/11. It's the first time we've actually gone to see it. I had the good camera with me, but the batteries were really low, so my pictures came out really bad. Mom said they're going to do it every year until the new tower is completed, so we'll go next year.
I'm a closet photographer, so I'd really like to try to get a good shot of it. It's really quite a sight.
Anyway, Sunday comes along and Dad tells me we're heading over to Nana's to do yard work again. The last several times, they haven't needed me to go, but this time I had to. It's not exactly something I like doing. Either way, we worked our butts off cleaning some stuff up. Nana's been upset because one of her neighbors has been talking trash around the neighborhood. We suspect he's trying to sell his house and he's doing it to force people into fixing up their houses so he can get more money for it. He's telling people that others are getting annoyed by certain things (when they're actually not), and he's threatening to call the town about stuff so owners get fined.
Basically, he's being a big jerkoff about it, and Nana's getting herself hyper again. Add to that Auntie Lyn's foot problems, and this has the potential to get everyone overly stressed to the point of bad health again. That wasn't fun last time, and I'd rather not repeat it.
So, I'm hoping the next couple days at work will be slow, and I'm definitely taking this weekend to myself. It's been rough, and I definitely need that down time.
