movie review
The other night, John S. and I went out to see Van Helsing. {{much Hugh Jackman inspired drooling}}

Yeah... I just have a few words about it... gratuitous Hugh Jackman half-naked scene.

heh...

Anyway, the storyline is fairly simple.

Van Helsing (Jackman) is a man with no past. He has no memory beyond a few scattered remnants from a long, long time ago. As the one and only front line 'soldier' of a group of priests fighting blasphemous evil, he's sent to Transylvania to investigate a vampire situation and save the bloodline of a royal gypsy family.

Enter the gypsy princess set on getting her family into Heaven (Cate Beckensale).

She's the last of the line now that her brother was killed in a werewolf hunt. If she dies before Dracula is killed, her ancestors will never enter Heaven because of a vow her great-great-grandfather made to God. He said that he would never rest or enter Heaven until Dracula was vanquished. This vow was passed down the family to her. If she fails, her entire family will be trapped in Limbo.

So, the two team up together to defeat Dracula and finally allow her family to rest in peace.

There's a hint of Underworld with Becksale's presence in a vampire/werewolf storyline. However, with the additions of Frankenstein's monster and Mr Hyde, it changes things slightly. There is no war, just a lone vigilante saving the world from evil. Unfortunately, I can't say much more without putting up spoilers, so I'll leave it at that.

It's a scary action movie. Lots of suspense, lots of things jumping out at you, and a very nice shot of Hugh Jackman in nothing but his pants-torn-to-skimpy-shorts near the end. {{more drooling}} ^^;;

It turns out the Sea Fair guy is really ticked off about the website Prof Naylor's doing. I can see why. It's not all that great.

So, a couple of us from S.I.F.E. volunteered to try to fix it.

We finished logging all the books finally for S.I.F.E., too. Over $26 thousand in value... 566 books total. Talk about wow-ness. It worked out awesome, though... and we're going to ship them off to other countries as part of our global outreach project.

I have a ton of other things I want to post, but I just can't now. Remind me to finish blogging before I go on Messenger next time... Too many IM's to deal with.

I can't believe graduation is Saturday. O.O;; And I can actually get my BT in December if I take another class this summer. I might add one on for the second half.

interview success!!
I have the internship! Just a few more things in the paperwork department, and I'm all set. I start Monday.

I can't wait.

Of course, being inside the jail can be a little nerve-wracking, but I'll get used to it, I'm sure. Plus, I'll have an escort with me at all times, so I'm not extremely worried. Especially since I'll be spending most of my time inside that office.

The inmates aren't allowed in the office except for the cleaning crew.

We are sweating our butts off here. There's no A/C in the building. GACK. I think I'm going to melt.

Summer has officially begun.

speaking of summer starting...
Classes for summer session start tomorrow night. My first class is Introduction to Criminal Justice. I also have Management Information Systems, which starts on Monday.

I'm considering adding one Bethpage class next half so I can get it over with. And Bethpage probably has A/C. Oi... I just don't want to drive out there... 45 minutes one way.

There's a reason they call this "LONG Island".

saturday's the big day
I'm looking forward to graduation on Saturday. I'm starting to get excited about things again. I'm not going to let all the crap with that girl get to me. She hasn't done anything here... and I doubt she will. I have a bigger support group now here than I did back in high school.

I guess I'm worrying about nothing with her.

Either way, I'm excited about everything that's going on. Graduation, the Internship, awards, honors, all that stuff.

oh yeah!
I got another award from school! I got an Academic Achievement Award on Monday, plus I was inducted into the Alpha Beta Kappa National Honors Society & got Who's Who in American Junior Colleges.

Yikes!!!

I'm actually doing well in school!!!

It helps that I'm actually attending my classes and doing my homework... ^^;;
