i-con 2004
Well, I managed to get there again this year. YAY!!! I even had a costume. As you can see by the pictures, I found a Kilala plushie. YAY! She's very cute and she was only $20. I also nabbed a pic of Chase Masterson, the woman who played Leeta on Star Trek: Deep Space 9 (the Dabo girl from Quark's bar, and Rom's girlfriend and eventual wife).

I also got myself a deck of regular playing cards with Inuyasha pics, a box of pocky, and a comic book. John S. went with me and he got a TON of stuff. He picked up two models, the Tallgeese III and the Mercurius, two GW artbooks, a Matchbox car of the Superman NASCAR car, and some other stuff that I don't remember.

After spending too much money in the dealer's room, we hit a couple of the seminars. We went to the two anime drawing seminars and the CG workshop. I learned a few neat tricks for coloring on the computer, so I'm looking forward to scanning in a few of my fan pics and playing around with them a bit... especially that pic of Duo I did a while back.

We hit a diner afterwards (and a bagel place beforehand) and I got all sorts of looks and comments about my costume. "Are you in a play?" "That's a nice cape." "Where are you going today?"

I got all embarassed... ^^;;

long weekend
So, my dad's mother came over (which I had no clue she was doing) on Saturday and was there when I got home from I-CON. We talked for a bit before she left. Apparently, a lot of people know about the convention. Even my cousin knew about it, said a friend of hers had gone. This my 'cool' cousin who thinks I can be a dork about things sometimes now that she's almost 15. LOL.

more people coming over
Yesterday, Auntie Lyn and Nana came over. I showed them the pics of my costume. I didn't know they were coming over again this week. But, because the competition's coming up soon, I have to go to the SIFE meetings on Sundays. So, I was late coming home.

sunday's meeting and today's presentation
So we had a working meeting yesterday. A quick presentation for some junior high kids when we first got there (which I ended up doing most of the work... {{sigh}}), and then we went over some of the basics for the competition slide show. I also did my usual 'pick up the projector and work on the simulation game'. However, I picked up the additional equipment since we did the Intro to Computers module this morning. I brought in all sorts of hardware for the women to look at. It went really well and I finished with enough time for them to really work on the simulation game.
