Mishandling Salary Negotiations

You'd be surprised just what you can do with a little negotiating power. I've seen it work a few times. Unfortunately, I'm rarely in situations where I can make it work. {{pout pout}} But, I got it a few times to work in my favor. I just have to try harder... ^^;;

Some of the stories are a tad bit wrong, but, yes... South Side Lodge is the sponsoring Lodge for Suwassett Assembly, my Rainbow Assembly. I don't know William James, but I do know Al Eid... and don't like him very much.

But, that's besides the point.

The South Side Fellow Craft Club is not an officially sanctioned Masonic organization. While the second degree of Freemasonry is called "fellowcraft", it is not the same thing.

I'm extremely sorry about what happened. It's a terrible tragedy.

What I want to know is what the heck Eid was doing carrying a gun in the Temple. Just because you're licensed doesn't mean you should be carrying it everywhere... and I'm a 'Right to Carry' supporter. Granted, Patchogue isn't exactly the safest place to be at night. I feel nervous after late night classes if I'm the last one walking out the door. One of the girls in Rainbow was attacked in the parking lot right outside my school.

Still, when you're going to a ceremony that uses a gun with blanks... why would you put yourself in the position to mistake the real gun for the fake one?

Anyway, I'm now worried. Not only does this cast bad light on the Masonic Fraternity, which is struggling in the membership department already, but all the associated organizations. Plus, with the suspension of South Side Lodge, Suwassett's future is even shakier than before.

hmmm...
Some people are so needy. They just don't do things on their own, which is extremely annoying. Student Services isn't here to provide every student with bus information on how to get from their houses to appointments in another town. Yes, we give information on how to get to school and back home. But, that's it, folks.

This is rediculous sometimes.

The SIFE seminar at the outreach center went very well this morning. I also got the projector back to the school in one piece... ~_^;;

Anyway, it's the first time I've done the whole thing on my own. I led the presentation with Prof Laube providing small comments throughout. I even did the Business Simulation Game on my own.

Go me!

Prof Newman is apparently impressed. I'll be working with him on Thursday nights from 6-7 with the men's group, too. I think this is going to be fun... not to mention the workout my laptop's now getting. ^_^

back to work
Anyway, just had some down time while I'm here at work study. Gotta get back now...

Nah, not really. But, I have one of the school's projectors right now. Right here... in my living room. Too bad I don't have a blank wall... I could watch a movie tonight. ^^;;

Anyway, I'm doing a presentation with SIFE tomorrow, similar to the ones I was doing at the Probation Department. Since I'm meeting Prof Laube instead of Prof Newman, I'm basically running the show. I'm a bit nervous, but I think I can do it. Anyway, Prof Newman signed out one of the projectors from the library for me to use with my computer. Cool, huh?

Not to mention my parents are really happy that I'm getting more use out of my laptop than just "Living Room Internet & E-mail". ^^;;

I have to get in touch with Prof Tyrie about my Intro to Mgmt grade. She gave me a B+ and I think I deserved higher. I'm not sure what the numerical cut offs are for the letter grades, so I want to ask. I'm so ticked, because that totally screws up my average now.

I was really liking being a straight A student for once. {{sobbing}}

Apparently, it shouldn't be surprising that I got a B+ from this professor anyway... she's apparently a hard case. {{sigh}} I'm not a happy camper now.
