strange news
So, I found out this weekend some really interesting news.

A while back, I posted up that I had lost a friend of mine to brain cancer. It wasn't easy for any of us who knew him, as I posted later on.

Angie took it the hardest, as they considered themselves a couple. It got hairy for all of us for a while there.

But, we found out a few days ago that things weren't what we thought. Vahun revealed to us the truth.

It turns out that AJ was going into major surgery to remove the tumor from his head. They weren't sure if he was going to survive. In anticipation of that, or the fact that he might come out not remembering anything, they told us he had died in his sleep.

But, he didn't die. He's been living in the hospital for the last two months going through all kinds of therapy to try and regain a normal life.

Are we happy? Yes.

Are we confused? Yes.

Are we hurt? Yes.

It feels a bit like betrayal... yet I can understand them wanting to protect us from being hurt if he was alive but never came back because of memory loss.

I think I'm more confused over the different things I'm feeling than anything else. In fact, I'm not sure what to feel again. I'm almost numb about it. {{shudders}} It's just so strange...

taxes!!!
Okay, everyone knows that when you get a paycheck from a job, taxes are supposed to be taken out of it. Well, I got my first paycheck last friday for work study and they didn't take anything out... and I didn't claim exemption on my W4. I should be getting stuff taken out so I get a refund at the end of the year. I don't want to owe!

Plus, getting the refund is a nice little bonus check in April.

But, anyway, I have to call Payroll tomorrow morning and get that straightened out. I really don't want to pay...

speaking of taxes
I have to file my taxes now. I think I have all my paperwork now. I think I'll wait a little while longer to see if I get any other forms. I got my school tuition claim form, my various W2's, my 1099-G, and my interest income statement. I think that's all I need. ^^;;

movie review
Saturday I went with Brian to see Along Came Polly. Staring Jennifer Aniston (Friends, Picture Perfect, Bruce Almighty) and Ben Stiller (Zoolander, Keep the Faith), it's a story of a honeymoon gone wrong and the following insanity as Reuben (Stiller) tries to put his life back together.

Debra Messing stars as Reuben's confused wife, Lisa... Alec Baldwin plays Reuben's boss... and Hank Azaria makes an appearance as the nudist scuba instructor Claude. Reuben walks in on Lisa and Claude while they're doing 'scuba lessons' on his boat. Reuben goes home, obviously depressed, and runs into his old friend from seventh grade, Polly (Aniston). Polly is the antithesis of Reuben, daring, out there, willing to try new and crazy things, while Reuben (who's a professional risk assessor for an insurance company) likes to play it safe... VERY safe.

While seeing Hank Azaria's and then Ben Stiller's naked butts wasn't exactly what I was going for. However, the movie itself was absolutely hysterical. There are some moments that are just plain gross... but it showcases Reuben's fears of danger and getting in troublesome situations.

I had a good time, and laughed my ass off during the movie. It was fun, despite any bad reviews... lol
