movie review 1 The third installment in our trilogy, The Matrix: Revolutions starts immediately after the second movie ends. Agent Smith has found a way to move between the Matrix and the real world by taking over someone's mind through their uplink. He is determined to find Mr. Anderson, his ultimate nemisis, and will go to any lengths to get to him. However, while the body Agent Smith has taken over is still recovering, Neo is also unconscious. It seems he's found a way to access a bridge world on the edge of the Matrix without an uplink. There's only one problem. He doesn't know how he got there and he doesn't know how to get out.
Major good things:
Fighting. Awesome choreography... awesome effects... and, yes, they do the Superman thing again.
Special Effects. Practically seamless with the real action once again. Elaborate sets and backdrops merged with some really great CG art and programming work leave for some very happy effects junkies.
Major bad things:
Dialog: Lame. Very lame. Don't tell me twenty times that Naiobi is a great pilot. Show it to me instead. And can we come up with better lines here for when you *do* comment on her piloting? "Wow, you're a great pilot!" just doesn't cut it.
Acting: As always, Keanu's best job is as Ted. Dramatic/serious roles are definitely not this guy's forté. Let's just say I have strange visions of him either cast as Pinnochio or standing there with a block of wood. As a result, the acting around him wasn't exactly 'A' movie either, which surprised me from such actors like Lawrence Fishbourne.
The effects made the matinee price for the movie worth seeing. I'm glad I saw it on the big screen. That waterball effect during the fight between Neo and Agent Smith just wouldn't have been the same here at home. But, I wouldn't have wanted to pay full price after 5 pm, that's for sure.
movie review 2 Another last trilogy installment comes in Scary Movie 3. Let's just say it was a good thing I didn't have to go to the bathroom before the movie started. I would have peed in my pants from laughing too hard.
It was hysterical. We hit all sorts of movies. I don't know half of them, but I did recognize Signs, The Others, The Ring, and don't forget that Coors Light commercial with...
"TWINS!!"
Yes, they even had that. And yes, I'm so weird, I sang along.
Anyway, Charlie Sheen is great in this kind of role. It's really a strong point for him and I love watching him in satirical movies. Leslie Nielson is another one who's great for that. Tell me if you can catch the old movie reference of the line he says during the last fight scene. The same girl returns to play Cindy, but she's a blonde now, so it was hard for me to recognize her at first.
I loved it. I laughed so hard, and I left the theatre still laughing and quoting lines with Estelle. For some reason, Erin doesn't usually appreciate that kind of humor... {{shrugs}}

paying for a day of fun Well, I went out Saturday. John S. and I went and saw the new Matrix movie earlier on. I later went with Estelle and Erin to see Scary Movie 3. Reviews to follow...
So, I get home Saturday night and head off to bed, all ready to give Johnny a call the next day about my Rifts character. Sunday comes, and I just can't get out of bed. This cold is killing me. Luckily, I don't have to work all week again. I think I would just die if I had to.
hot or cold??? I think part of what's making me so sick (and apparently half the student population at Briarcliffe College as well) is the fact that they can't make up their minds whether or not to turn on the heat. I was sweating like crazy last Wednesday in class. So, I wore a t-shirt under my heavy coat tonight. I never took off the coat because we were all freezing.
And I type this as I'm coughing up a lung. Go figure, right?
