observations I've been noticing that my news following and reporting on this blog has gone down dramatically since I started back up here at work. It's almost like all I feel like doing is complaining lately. Granted, anyone that works over there is going to do a lot of complaining (and they do), but I've noticed a huge change in my content.
For those that mostly came here for current events and editorial comments, I apologize for the lack of it. As you can probably tell, I've had a lot going on elsewhere. Since this is basically a combination blog that deals with more than just current news, I've been posting on things that are really effecting me at the moment.
One of those is work.
I also have a few movie reviews that I haven't posted, yet, from my weekend staying over at Estelle's. We watched three movies that weekend, and I know I want to post up what I thought of them. I just haven't had the chance. I'll do that soon, so don't worry.
So, while my apparent change of content and format was no planned and done on purpose, it seems to be a natural extension of where my current thoughts are focusing. Things will come back to normal again, I'm just not sure when.

ouchies again Well, yesterday wasn't too bad in the pain department (though I let Dad drive all day because I couldn't turn my head), but today I skipped work. I wanted to make sure I could get to class without too much trouble.
is there hope? I realized the other day that my schedule was wrong. I went in early today to get things settled on it. They took me out of Object Oriented Programming in C++ (apparently it was cancelled this semester), and put me into Introduction to Computers. Talk about a huge jump backwards.
Anyway, after talking to the Dean of Students, she said I needed the class anyway to graduate. Sucks, right? But, I got a few things straightened out for my future Bachelor's degree and I'm going to try and take as many classes here at Patchogue before I start commuting all the way to Bethpage.
light at the end of the tunnel Of course, being back in school messes up my work schedule. There was a reason I took my classes no earlier than 6 o'clock. The Intro class is at 5. I don't get out of work until 5. Since transporters haven't been invented, yet, I have to leave work early to make it to class on time. I forgot to talk about it with my Professor tonight. I'll bring it up on Monday.
However, going to school after work will be a relief. Instead of just a boring day of making sure all the state fields have states in them, I'll have boring classes to sit through afterwards. Both of my teachers seem to really want to make it interesting for us, so I will definitely try my hardest to stay with them on things.
I just have a feeling I'm going to be the Hermione in the class this time around.
blah blah Work yesterday wasn't the greatest. We came in and things were screwed up right off the bat. Apparently, the main file server went down, and Bill was scrambling about most of the morning to get it back up and running. Then, I had to reindex Steve's database because it somehow became all corrupted over the weekend. Then there were the issues Jerry was having all day with his voice mail system...
But someone somewhere decided to grace me with the biggest problems of the day. While I was running around fixing the other things, I kept coming back to my own computer to fix that. I was getting registry errors during start up, I couldn't connect to the servers (after they were back up, by the way...), I was missing important files, and programs that I had uninstalled weren't being removed from the hard drive and registry keys. I replaced the files, which solved my networking and drive mapping issues, changed some things in the registry, and deleted a bunch of stuff off the hard drive. I still get registry errors (different from the originals, which is a good sign...), and my log on process is completely different than what it had been originally, but the computer runs.
I'll take it for now.
newsgroups are saviors of the computer I've been digging around Microshaft's online support newsgroups to find answers to some of the problems I've been having with my computer here at home lately. I've found some really interesting ideas. I'm apparently not the only one with these issues, either.
One problem...
There's apparently several different causes to these problems, and there's several different solutions to solve each cause. Okay, more than several, but you get the point.
I'm hoping that some of the ideas I've found will help me out once I get the time to work on them.

sleepy ouchies I was going to go over to Estelle's today and hang out with her and the baby, but I must have hurt my neck or something over the weekend. I can really move my head much at all right now, especially to the left. Mom gave me a pill, and now I'm starting to get a bit sleepy. It's not helping with the pain much, just making me tired.
Figures...
I hope this goes away soon, though. I start school tomorrow, and I don't know about driving if I can't turn my head.

no anime fest Well, I never got in touch directly with John S. We played phone tag all weekend and I ended up not going to Big Apple Anime Fest. ;_;
I hope they have it next year. I really wanted to go to an actual anime convention for once. I was actually pretty disappointed in I-CON this year.
home and bored So... I'm doing laundry. It beats going with my parents to Nana's to clean off her deck, though. I'm honestly surprised that damn thing isn't rotted out by now with all the junk on it. Standing water, piles of dead leaves, bugs, junk... I'm really surprised.
Anyway, time to go finish some more laundry. I guess I should run the dishwasher, too. I think it's full, last I looked.

just communication Why do I feel like people don't talk and listen to each other anymore? Half told stories and reasons, a lot of "I shouldn't tell you", and people not listening has been going around lately, and it's making me crazy. Just tell me. If you're going to bring it up, then tell me the whole story. Don't drop tiny bits and pieces around, but expect me to understand.
Between AE and other online groups, I feel like the world has suddenly gone secretive. I'm out of the loop and I don't like that. I feel like people don't trust me. Maybe I'm overreacting, but I would have figured that, after knowing a lot of these people consistantly for how many years now, they would have felt comfortable talking to me.
Or typing to me... however you want to look at it.
It's this lack of information that causes misunderstandings in the first place. If you don't tell people the whole story, how can you expect them to come up with an informed decision on something? How can you expect them to understand everything you're feeling? I just don't understand.
If I don't want to tell someone something, then I just don't bring up the topic at all. It's that simple. I don't understand what's so hard about that. I really don't.
Am I so naive and do I see things in such black and white terms that I'm not normal or something?
Why? All I want to know is why.

concert goodness So, Mom, Auntie Lyn, and I went to see Hall & Oates at the Beach tonight. Damn, those guys still put on a good show. ^___^ I'm so hyped up now. The opening act was Kenny Loggins. Talk about total '80's flashback tonight. But, it was so much fun! They all sounded great.
phone not so goodness John S didn't call me today. :( Hopefully, if I can get in touch with him tomorrow morning, we can still go. I don't know what time it ends tomorrow. I don't want to get there too late.
Big Apple Anime Fest!!!! {{dies}} I have to go... o.o;;
more after lunch boredness I don't feel as terrible as I did yesterday, but I was still terribly bored all day. I really have to push myself to get this done. I'm really having serious issues concentrating on it. It majorly sucks.
lack of news-ness And I have nothing else to write at the moment... O.O;;
