change in time
Well, EAB (Citibank) called me today and pushed back my starting date. I'm not starting on Monday... now it's Tuesday. {{shrugs}} Oh well... It's only one day.

money woes
And I don' t know if I'm going to be able to renew my website. I might end up moving the whole site temporarily over to another spot for a while. I got a check today for my tutoring, but it was only $28. And I don't get paid for another two weeks, at least, from this other place.

no one told me
I heard on NBC yesterday that a girl died in a fire as a result of bringing her ATV indoors. The ATV sprung a gas leak while it was inside and it burned their apartment. The mother was very upset, as would I be. But, she blames the ATV for not having a warning on it against bringing it indoors.

I'm sorry, but I wouldn't have even thought to bring a vehicle indoors. After all, that's what the "V" stands for. Would you bring your car into your apartment? I'm sorry the girl died, but common sense could have prevented it. It's not the ATV company's fault.

those darn teenagers
A rash string of vandalism cases is plaguing on particular town near me. According to NBC, car mirrors and windows are being smashed all over the place. The perpetrator?

Mating woodpeckers. Apparently, they're extremely territorial, to the point of attacking their reflections. And no one can do anything because it's an endangered species of woodpecker...

Someone has to set up some sort of community program to help these woodpeckers and get them off the streets... ~_^;;

driving driving driving
Okay... I really don't like driving in Queens. What's worse is when the hotel clerk giving you directions is apparently dislexic, saying left when it's a right and right when it's a left.

Good thing I only had two major turns.

Anyway, after circling the hotel for a good ten minutes (I *had* been early)... I finally find the Municipal parking lot. Well, municipal lots all run on meters. You tap your space number into the meter, enter the money, and it gives you a receipt. Max 3 hours.

Max 3 hours?! This seminar was supposed to last all day!!! So, I dump the money into the meter (luckily I had enough quarters since the damn thing took only quarters or this thing called a "Muni-card"), grab my receipt and head inside. As I'm crossing the street, I see a sign for parking under the hotel.

Yeah.

I head upstairs, sign in, and sit down. At first break, I moved my car into the garage. It turned out to be a lot cheaper and lot more convenient than running downstairs and renewing my ticket every three hours.

long day of .....
I quietly sat and listened, participating when 'necessary', I suppose. It was a giant sell. Well, that's not fair. I did learn several things about Internet Marketing, so it wasn't a waste. And it was certainly stuff that I didn't know previous to today. So, all in all, it wasn't a bad thing to be there.

Of course, now I have three hosting accounts for websites. Definitely have to figure on how to work that out and get some money back from ones I'm not using.

Anyway, I did buy a site. I got two more free. They set me up with a merchant account to accept credit cards as well, which I didn't think I really needed, but it's there. That, of course, means I will have to find something to sell. I'll figure that out later.

homeward bound
Then there was the drive home. I was a lot more successful getting back to the LIE than I had been getting to the hotel. Naturally, the LIE was crammed. But, I had a fairly easy run on the service road, surprise surprise. I discovered that I probably wouldn't have too much difficulty driving through Manhattan, either. So, I had some fun driving around in traffic for a while. It cleared up again about halfway through Nassau county. I stopped to get gas (almost 21 mpg...), and then headed home.

WOW!!!


Shock of a lifetime. All these applications and whatnot that I've been putting out and I get a phone call today from EAB (CitiBank) about the résumé I have posted on HotJobs. So much for applications. These people happened to have pulled up my résumé in a search on the site and they wanted to hire me on the spot. After some phone interviews and talking back and forth, I start on Monday.

So, Nana called today. I don't have to take her to the doctor tomorrow. Now, it's June 30th at 11:45. {{shrugs}} Oh well.

hangin' out
Yesterday, I went over to Estelle and Johnny's. We watched my The Animatrix DVD and wrestling. I'm not a big wrestling fan myself, but they are. ^^;; I got a view of Trev's favorite wrestler, Hurricane, in action. He'd be happy I saw him. I also got to see Rick Flaire bleeding all over himself again. Again is the operative word there.

And Mick Foley is back because of Stone Cold, despite a threat from Triple-H. What I want to know is... why does Triple-H care if Mick Foley referees the match? {{shrugs}} I guess they're just looking for a storyline. Of course, I haven't been watching it as I'm not a big fan, so... Again... I'm probably just clueless.
