new class-ness
Well, I have two new classes. Intro to Java and Principles of Accounting. Accounting looks like it's going to be a lot of homework. She gave us a ton already. I just hope she doesn't give a lot on Mondays because my Java class runs all night on Tuesdays (6 - 11). But, because we run so long, we don't meet on Thursdays, which is nice. I don't have class tonight as a result.

java-ness
Another bad thing about the Java class is that we meet in the library. That's going to be very distracting for me. People walking in and out like that during class. It's going to be rough. There's only five of us in the class, maybe more that didn't show Tuesday night. {{shrugs}} Either way, the teacher wants to try and move us over to one of the rooms in the other building. You know, a regular computer lab where we can actually program and compile stuff. The computers in the library are severely lacking in ammenities.

Not that the computers in the labs are much better with all the lockdowns on them, but that's besides the point. The library computers are worse.

Of course, being that's there's only five of us, I'm the only girl in the class. And it's a class full of absolute geeks. I mean, I'm a geek just for being a programmer, but these guys are geeks compared to me! As if that's possible... go fig, right?

On top of that, they're the worst kind of geek. They're all argumentative geeks that think they're right about everything. I feel bad for the professor because they're arguing against the language he's trying to teach us!!

It also doesn't help that Java isn't his favorite language either.

This is going to be an interesting class... to say the least.

accounting-ness
Big yawn. The teacher tries, she really does. But, she admits it's dry and boring material. It doesn't help that she might be the type to load on the homework.

However, it doesn't seem extremely complicated yet. I'm hoping it stays that way.

work-ness
Today was a small sense of panic again. FS1 was down again. It's happened several times before. And Steve's DB was all messed up, again. I ran the Act Diagnostic Tool to remove the corrupt indexes and then had it repair itself. All better. It couldn't just repair the indexes because they were too corrupt, so I had to remove them. Luckily, I didn't have to go in and delete all the index files manually. That's a pain in the ass. I've done that on Billy's.

Jerry's also having some DB issues. They pulled his hard disc and stuck it in a new machine. Now, that shouldn't cause any issues if the drives get mapped all back to the right places. So, I have to check his Act Preferences for default drives, and his network settings, and his drive mappings, and stick the right layout up on the screen for him. I think that's the problem he's having anyway. I'm not sure what exactly he was complaining about, but I think it was a layout problem. I also have to go in and delete a bunch of records from his DB as well. Somehow, a bunch of extra leads got dumped in that he can't use.

Loads of fun. This whole place is just nutsy.

halloween-ness
Tomorrow is Halloween. Johnny's parents are having a party at their house. My costume's a bit blah, but I'm not really in the Halloween spirit this year. Maybe I'll be more inventive next year. I also didn't have a lot of money to decorate myself up with.

I can't fit in my renaissance faire costume anymore, and I'm just generally feeling blah about myself. Estelle tried to get me to get one of those sexy gothic maiden type costumes, or maybe the Roxy Hart costume (to look like Renee Zelwegger in Chicago), but I'm just not feeling sexy enough in my current body shape. She also suggested a devil... Not feeling very devillish this year, either.

Oh well.

I've got good makeup, and I'm working on doing my nails this year since I have nails to do, and I think I can accessorize. Maybe I'll hit the Halloween shops over the weekend and catch the after-holiday clearance sales for ideas on costumes for next year. After all, I get paid tomorrow.

random-ness
And I'm bored and hungry right now. Blah... I just wish I wasn't feeling so sick, too. I've had a cold/allergy thing since the end of August now. Yup, same one. Still can't shake it.
