new truck
Dad picked up the truck this morning. Now we have five vehicles sitting around the commons. My car, Mom's truck, Dad's old truck, Dad's new truck, and Nana's car (which Dad is using to travel right now). Dad wants to pull stuff from the old truck to put on the new truck and then, once he's got the registration settled with the plates and all, we can give Nana back her car. Then, I think he's going to donate the old truck so he can write it off on next year's taxes. Then, we'll be back down to our normal three vehicles.

{{evil grin}} I just think it's cool that we're the ones taking up all the parking spots this time.

Waiting for John S to call. He had some chores to do this morning, as did I. While mine are fairly "I can do this whenever", I'm using them to kill time while I'm waiting. Things like organizing the papers here on the table, finishing my packet for Net Lab & Troubleshooting, cleaning my car, redoing the duct tape on the chrome fender moldings so they don't pop off again... Yeah, I still haven't redone those rivets. I have no clue how, nor do I have immediate access to a rivet gun. Dad said he would do it for me, or at least help me do it, but he keeps forgetting to get ahold of the rivet gun he has access to.

I did a quick wash, cleaned the windows, and cleaned most of the interior (I didn't vaccuum, though). I got lazy on the wheel rims. They're the ones with all the small spokes, so they're really hard to clean. They look great once it's done, but I just didn't have the energy to do them. I need to save up some money and get the car really detailed and compounded. I've got some road grim that's stuck on bad, and I just can't scrub it off anymore without risking the paint job. First, I want to get the splash guards on the tires, though.

Mom went and got her hair done again today. Dad's stopping at Nana's to help with some yardwork and then install the new faucet for their bathroom. Then, Mom's got a dentist's appointment. Nancy called and asked if I wanted to go over to Grandma's with her, Bill, and the kids. I might have considered it if I hadn't promised John S about the Visual Basic homework last night. And then, it would have taken some serious consideration since, as much as I love my cousins, I can't take all four of them at once in a minivan. In a house, not a problem, because there are separate rooms, but not in a minivan. I've done it. It's not fun.

Plus, Nana and Auntie Lyn are coming over tomorrow. In a way, John S asking me for help with his homework saved me from four rambunctious kids in a minivan and having to deal with the stress of Nana and Auntie Lyn in the same building two days in a row. Considering I've been bordering on a combination of an anxiety attack and just outright depression all week, that's a good thing.
