Breaking Up Is Hard to Do
"I should kick that guy's ass..."
"I'd like to see you try without getting hurt."
Duo glared at Minako for a second and then sighed. She had a point. His balance was still off thanks to the stupid ankle injury... He clenched his fists.
"It's been how long, though?" he asked. "And he never called her back after that day."
"I don't know," Mina said, shaking her head. "But it does really stink. You can see it's starting to bother her when people ask her about him."
"Idiot..."
Mina smiled. Duo was so protective of everyone, yet he still managed to deceptively keep them all at arm's distance. It was strange... she felt so close to him sometimes, and... others, he was like miles away.
Jess sometimes called him wide shut, after the weird movie with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman... not that she related him to the movie itself... but more like his attitude. He kept himself so hidden behind a facade that made him seem so open.
And now, he was showing another classic trait with Jess's little bout of confused depression. She'd been happy with that guy... and he had seemed happy with her... and they even got along with his daughter around, yet... he just stopped calling.
Minako sighed.
People were so strange sometimes.
